Automated vetting for national security

Security vetting of staff is a crucial part of Homeland Security. Much money and effort is spent on electronic and building security but all passwords and entry codes are known to staff on the organisations payroll.

The Vetting Process is a process of researching individuals and their background to ensure integrity and fitness for posts where they handle sensitive information or have the opportunity to divulge information that is nationally or commercially sensitive and potentially damaging to their employer or the Nation. It is also vital to vet people engaged in large financial transactions or engaged in positions where they can support or become involved in crime.

Simple credit checks tell you little or nothing about the person and their overall risk with your organisations passwords, entry codes and other sensitive information. For many years MOD have recognised this and applied much more stringent tests to individuals to gain a full understanding of their position and relative stability for employment in very sensitive posts.

Historically the vetting process has been slow, cumbersome and very paper based. This has now changed by the introduction of the Warrantor System. Warrantor is an enterprise scale system for the automation of the vetting process. This reduces effort and time in the vetting process by significant amounts and can pay for itself in under a year. As a workflow driven case management system it avoids lost cases, immediately identifies delays and provides analysis of process times and efficiencies.
